My Teaching Philosophy |
| I believe that my students can reach outstanding heights in fulfilling their potential when the parents, students, and I work together as a team. Communication is the key to the success of that team. I send home daily electronic newsletters detailing the important information of the day. I have created a web site www.mccartha.org that contains student links pertaining to our units of study, photographs of classroom activities, and examples of student work. This site is a valuable tool in keeping parents and others informed about our classroom. I emphasize communication skills by having students create presentations and performances for both my class and audiences outside of the classroom. |

I believe that each child’s success begins at home. Please follow this link to read more about the importance of the child’s home. http://www.nea.org/parents/ppower.html I look forward to working with my
students and their families this year in an effort to achieve each child’s
potential. Language Arts in Our Classroom: Children are consolidating their growing reading and writing expertise, exploring new genres, and becoming more effective communicators.
I love
teaching with the second grade outstanding teachers at Oak Pointe Elementary. We
have a supportive principal and an amazing faculty! |
